Karen Briles was raised in South Texas where the population is 95% Hispanic. She began learning Spanish, and much of the Mexican culture, at an early age. Karen received a B.B.A. from Texas A&M University, specializing in International Marketing. She began Spanish Language Services in 1996. Karen completed her Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Advanced Spanish Language and Hispanic Cultural Studies at the University of North Carolina in Greensboro in December of 2009.

Spanish Language Services is certified as a North Carolina Woman Owned Business Enterprise. Karen is a member of the American Translators Association, the Carolina Association of Translators and Interpreters and the Asheboro/Randolph Chamber of Commerce.
